I imagine it was the same as any changing station – place to put baby, place to put liners (that is empty), potentially filthy straps to prevent baby from rolling onto the ground. The changing station was being used when I went into the bathroom, so I didn’t really check it out. At a rest stop, though, I think it is cleaner, safer, and easier to change the baby in the car unless s/he is still at the age when s/he pees/poops while being changed. There was, however, only one baby changing station that I could find. The bathrooms were big and clean, located at the back of the Chesapeake House. I got a roast beef sandwich, which was much better than the turkey the Hubby chose. Anyway, we ate at the Earl of Sandwich, which was tasty, but expensive. We did stop at the Maryland House on a previous trip when C was a baby, but I don’t recall much about it other than the food and the couches on which I breastfed C. Personally, I don’t think the food options are as good as the Maryland House. I figured it might be helpful for parents to know that the Chesapeake House is a great place to stop when traveling with tots.įood wise, it isn’t that great. Luckily C slept for most of the drive, and about 2 hours in she woke up so we decided to stop and eat at the Chesapeake House, recently renovated and re-opened. In this case, we were headed up to Philadelphia for a wedding. If you live in the DMV area, chances are you will travel north on 95 at some point to Baltimore, Philadelphia, or New York.
